How to Remove the Batteries in a Sansa Clip MP3 Player

    • 1). Turn off your Sansa Clip MP3 player, and remove headphones or other peripherals and cables from the unit.

    • 2). Examine the side of the MP3 player and locate the seam where the front and back portions of the case connect. Insert the tip of your flathead screwdriver into the seam and twist slowly to begin prying the seam apart.

    • 3). Move the screwdriver further down the seam and twist again. Continue working your way around the seam, applying just enough pressure to pry the two portions of the case apart.

    • 4). Remove the back portion of the Sansa Clip case when you have pried it free from the front. The silver battery unit will be visible sitting on top of the MP3 player's motherboard.

    • 5). Lift up the battery to locate the battery power cable that connects it to the motherboard. Unplug the cable and remove the battery; you can now install a new battery and snap the case back together.
