Tips for Publishing Books
Before sending your work to the publisher, you must know certain things about the working of publishers. If you don't bother to know this and submit your work blindly then you will end up in frustration. Very first thing and most important thing you must know about the publishers is they won't read or accept any unsolicited materials. There are many reasons for it out of which avoiding the lawsuit is the major one. There are few publishers that do accept unsolicited works, but they are very small, new and probably unknown. So, if you want your work to be published by a reputable publisher then it is better to ask them first.
Secondly, there are various publishers that have specialization in certain types of book, so it is useless to send your non fiction work to publishers that have specialization in publishing only fiction books. Always check whether your gene is accepted by the particular publisher or not. By sending your work to a list of publishers blindly is wasting your time and money. Carefully select the list of publishers by browsing the history of each publisher.
Lastly don't send your manuscript as it is. Visualize your manuscript as your product. You have to present your product as attractively as possible so as to grab the instant attention. Your work should be packaged in such a way that it will instantly grab the attention of publisher. It is also a good idea to write a professional covering letter mentioning very briefly about yourself and the logline and short synopsis of your work.
