    • 1). Cut four pieces of wire approximately 2 to 3 feet longer than the desired length of the fencing. Galvanized wire is the most durable.

    • 2). Divide the wire into two pairs. Twist the ends of the wire together tightly with pliers, leaving about an inch of extra wire.

    • 3). Lay the paired wires on the ground. Space the pairs apart so they will sit a quarter of the way in from the top and bottom of the fencing.

    • 4). Insert the first wood slat between the strands of paired wires. Push the slat firmly against the twisted ends.

    • 5). Grip the paired wires tightly with pliers on the side of the slat opposite the twisted ends. Twist the paired wires two full revolutions to secure the wood slat in place.

    • 6). Place the second wood slat between the strands of paired wires. Grip the paired wires at the exposed edge of the slat and twist them two full revolutions.

    • 7). Continue adding slats and twisting wire after each slat until the fence is complete. Cut the wire after the last twisting so about an inch of extra wire hangs off.

    • 8). Fold over the extra inches of wire at either end of the fencing and staple them to the adjacent slats.
