Here is a look at the inside of the HT-RC160, as seen from above and rear of the receiver. Without going into detail, you can see the power supply, with its large transformer, on the right, heat sinks towards the back of this photo, and all of the amplifier, sound, and video processing circuitry packed into the rest of the space. . Also, if didn't look at the previous gallery page, check out close-up photos of the Faroudja Video Processing Chip and Texas Instruments Audio Processing Chip.

However, just as I mentioned in the previous gallery page, one thing that should be noted is that there is no fan. This means that despite the large heat sinks, this receiver does run very warm and should be placed on rack or entertainment center that provides ventilation from both the sides and is open at the rear. I would say that having a good three to four inches on each side and above the receiver would be a good plan, as well as an open air outlet behind the receiver as I mentioned. Do not use a sealed rack or entertainment center unless you plan to install a fan that can suck the warm air out of the enclosed space.

For a look at the remote control provided with the HT-RC160, proceed to the next in this gallery...
