- 1). Install ZR85 drivers on your PC. The drivers that are needed to connect the ZR85 to your PC are included on a disc that comes with your camera. You can download the drivers directly from the Canon website. The drivers can be installed by running the "setup.exe" or "install.exe" files. Double clicking either of these files will automatically install the correct drivers that are compatible with the operating system of your PC.
- 2). Connect USB cable to your ZR85 camera. The port on the ZR85 is much smaller than the USB port on your PC and will accept only the smaller end of the Canon USB cable.
- 3). Connect the USB cable to your PC. Once the cable is connected to both the ZR85 and your PC, the Canon ZR 85 drivers will automatically recognize the ZR85 and will launch the capture software.
- 4). Select "Download." Once the program is launched, you will be able to transfer all or some of the digital files from the ZR85 to your PC. Depending on how large the files are that you are transferring, the transfer process may take several minutes to complete.
- 5). Press "Disconnect." Once the transfer is complete, press the "Disconnect" icon that will be displayed on the Canon ZR85 PC software. Failure to press this icon may result in a loss of data on your camera.
