How to Draw a Silkworm
- 1). Draw a 10-inch slightly curved horizontal line in the center of the piece of paper. Leaving a 1-inch gap, draw a second line underneath. This will form the silkworm body. At each end of the lines, draw a round circle to connect the lines together to create the head and tail.
- 2). Draw small curved lines inside the body every centimeter to add folds and division to the abdomen of the silkworm. You should have draw about 10 lines to divide up the body.
- 3). Focus on the head of the worm. Transform the circle into a soft triangle shape, and add a circular lump on the end of the head. Draw several lines close together inside the circle to create wrinkles and folds in the soft skin. Add two small dots for the eyes. Because the drawing is of the silkworm profile, make sure the eye dots are right on the end of the triangular shape.
- 4). Add small dots along the bottom of the body of the worm to create the breathing holes. Underneath these holes draw small triangular shapes to create the legs of the silkworm. Draw legs attached to each section of the divided abdomen. Add extra lines inside each section of the body to create the folds and lines in the skin.
- 5). Draw small spikes on top of the body of the silkworm. Draw two slim spikes coming out from the end and from the tail. Outline the tail section and draw it curving into the rest of the body.
- 6). Outline the drawing in a black marker and erase any pencil lines. Color in the silkworm using beige's and yellows.
