5 Ways to Boost Reader Response in Social Media
Social Media has proven to be a great resource to reach audiences and tap into what they really need, want and are interested in.
The question is how do we encourage more interaction? When it comes to social media, there is some serious value in encouraging readers to interact with you.
Questions, answers, feedback...
pretty much any back-and-forth with your target audience gives invaluable insight into what they are thinking, what they need and how we can make sure that our business supports them in a way where everyone wins.
When you get frustrated with lack of response within your social media, here are some ways to boost interaction and make a lasting impression on your target audience.
1.
Videos Videos are a great way to reach your audience! They help others to see you as a person, and not just a faceless online entity.
People want to connect with people.
Utilize video to do a few of your blog posts and post them to either YouTube or Facebook and see what kind of reactions you get.
And don't forget to encourage viewers to leave comments to start a conversation.
2.
Questions This may seem simple...
and it really is.
If we want to know an answer to a question, we are taught from an early age that we only need to ask.
Remember that sign that your teacher hung in your elementary classroom? "There is no such thing as a stupid question.
" If we want to know our clients' interests or their opinions on our products or services, we only need to ask.
People love to share their opinions! Use questions to get to know your audience.
3.
Let your hair down! Scripted and perfect is out.
Real-life is where the real value is at! When you're interacting with your audience on Facebook, YouTube, Google+, and other social media forums you don't need to be stuffy and uptight.
You can be professional, and let your hair down a bit at the same time.
Let your audience know who you are as a person.
Share a funny personal story, a recent life event, or your child's latest achievement.
You can easily tie in a reminder about your latest webinar when you're telling them how little Johnny just said the funniest thing while you were preparing for the upcoming event.
Just be yourself, and people will love you for it.
4.
Google Hangouts Google Hangouts has proven its value time and again.
In fact, this social media tool has quickly become one of my favorites.
It's free, convenient, easy to set up and use.
Google Hangouts definitely puts the "social" in social media.
You're able to interact with people in such a way that it almost feels as if they are in the same room.
Hangouts allow you to respond live to your audience.
You can ask and answer questions, exchange stories, and show the real you.
Another awesome feature is that if your audience is unable to attend, you can easily record and repost to any of your other social media platforms.
5.
Be Present People like to know that their thoughts and opinions matter.
If you ask a question, be prepared to respond to the answers promptly.
Be sure to take the time to respond to people who comment on your posts, share something about themselves, or 'mention' or share your posts or business.
Let them know that their thoughts, opinions, and actions matter to you as well.
