So you know from my blogs that there is "TEA Solutions" this is a subsidiary of the company that owns starting a business on a shoe string. TEA Solutions does fundraising, and event planning. This company writes grants and proposals as well.

Well, I am using the skills I obtained from Capitol Hill to get contracts to support starting a business on a shoe string. This idea came to me when I obtained a contract to do some fundraising for a non profit. TEA Solutions can support starting a business on a shoe string.

What happened next was great!! I met some candidates for some judicial positions opened in the area. From that I was able to volunteer for one of them. He in turn took me around and I met others who are interested in my skills.

I wrote a proposal, left one in a chair and it disappeared. Good, someone may be able to use it no matter how vague I was.

These are campaigns that are low on capital but could use campaign skills. Now, here is some information; when you are fundraising you can raise your administrative costs and capital for a campaign at the same time. If you are an event planner, fund raiser or both you can charge 15% of what is raised. Therefore, you can raise your income while you raise funds for your candidate. The trick is not to need an enormous amount of money for a short period of time.

Once you raise the funds you can submit a voucher for your 15% of the amount raised. If you are lucky you have volunteered on someones campaign win or lose you have learned a lot about how the process works.

TEA Solutions would like a contract to raise funds and do events. However, once TEA Solutions proves itself (that it can raise campaign funds) others may use its services.

Business men say "If you work hard, once you start making money, money will come to you." So go find a campaign in your area and give some free time. Especially if you are unemployed, you never know where it may lead.

Are you running a campaign? Do you have a campaign plan? If the answer is no, you have a problem. There are two reasons to have a campaign plan.

1. Stay focused on the race

2. Demonstrate to you donors and supporters that you have a solid, coherent plan to in place to win the office you seek.

Have you mapped out a guide for a competitive campaign. A campaign plan laid out in a logical fashion can lead a canidate to a successful campaign. A good campaign is smooth, and allows for monitoring, and changes for quick response to unforeseeable circumstances in a campaign. A plan will keep you on track.

When you are are attacked by your opponent, and this will happen, your campaign plan will have a response and counterattack already laid out so you do not faulter trying to create a response to that attack. Do not be caught off guard.

Second, a campaign plan signals to potential large contributors that you are serious about your endeavor to win by spending dozens or more hours writing a plan. This will show how you plan on winning! Contributors faith in the canidate will increase based on a well thought out and written plan. You can let them see your campaign plan, although not closely, and by no means give a copy to anyone!

You may not think you need a campaign plan, you may have the support of a political party. Take a look at past campaigns on a local level see how many were lost because on lost because of inadequate planning.

Have a campaign plan so you can be steps ahead of your opponent. Being prepared will allow a candidate to make a smooth transition when responding to issues, because you have planned for the worse. Do not get caught in the misty effects of war where things get lost.

Two goals and objectives for a campaign plan are:

1. Polling - take a poll to see what the public concerns are regarding the office you seek

2. Direct Mail - stay in touch with the constituency during campaign

Polling - tells you what is on the mind of voters in you area or district. What issues concern them. This will help shape the candidates message, and be sure you talk about what the peoples issues are.

Direct Mail - communication is a key component in a campaign. Contacting and staying in contact with the constituency will move people to vote for you. Communication will convince people to give the candidate money. When you design your diret mail straegy keep in mind to target those voters who are receptive to your platform. Direct mail is the candidates personal visit to the voter.
