When building a new home, the standard landscape package available with most builders is not to a level that satisfies many homeowners.
They wish to create a more inviting outdoor space.
Consider the east coast residents who, although living in a lavish new home, found themselves staring out of their windows at dirt and rocks, and a couple of very tiny bushes.
They knew they wanted to define their property area so they made a call to a CT fencing company.
In CT fences are not typically a standard feature when building a new home.
They had some ideas about how to begin their massive outdoor finishing project and made a list of the things they felt would best increase the curb appeal of their home.
They researched in landscaping magazines and online, consulted with some landscape artists, and came up with a few ways to spruce up the look of their outdoor space.
1.
A property enclosure would give a finished look to their space.
Creating a wood or vinyl boundary is what this couple decided to do.
After consultation, they felt it would define their space and give a pleasing backdrop for a variety of plants and trees.
An enclosure creates a standard height background which is useful when diagramming landscape configurations.
2.
Creating a front yard focal point will provide a starting place for further landscaping.
Landscaping that incorporates various colors, textures, and heights, is a way to create visual interest in a lawn area.
Choosing that spot which will be the centerpiece of the design can set the stage for all other landscape additions.
This couple chose to feature a small and stylish water fountain, surrounded by cascading ivy to serve as the focal point for their project.
After selecting this combination, they were able to make other bush and shrubbery selections which nicely complemented their choice.
Landscaping choices should never be in competition with one another, but should work in tandem to create a unified, finished look.
3.
Finish the planting with a covering of mulch.
Many people, after completing new yard plantings, inexplicably decide to save a penny or two by skimping on, or not even purchasing mulch.
Not only does an application of mulch give completed plantings that finished look, it also protects new plants and provides them with a source for gaining extra nutrients.
4.
Do not neglect to water.
Okay, nothing could be simpler, right? Unfortunately, many people, upon completing their project, fail to provide adequate watering sessions for their landscaping.
Many people underestimate the amount of water new plants need to begin to thrive in their new environment.
A failure to water will mean replacing plants and will be an added cost to the project.
5.
Create a path or patio area for enjoying your outdoor space.
So many materials are available when creating paths or patio spaces.
Pavers and stones create an earthly look that blends nicely in gardens and heavily landscaped areas.
A winding path or a cozy spot to sit and relax among the beauty of nature can be a welcome addition to any garden or lawn.
