- 1). Right click the file you want to zip or unzip. From the pull down menu that appears, select "Send To" and finally "Compressed (zipped) Folder." This loads the WinZip software on your computer.
- 2). Choose your zip location at the bottom of the screen. This is where the compressed file is placed after the zip is complete. Click "Zip" (or "Compress") and the file zips to the location.
- 3). Click and drag the zipped file into the zip software when you want to unzip it. Select an extraction point for the unzipped file to be placed.
- 4). Click "Extract" (or "Unzip") and the file is extracted from the compressed state.
