What are the feelings that wash over you when you see images of Jesus? Relief? Conviction? Submission? Do the tears fall? Or do you want to do a dance? The fact is, that at any given time, any of these responses would fit your spirit.
Isn't that what spirituality is all about? After all, you feel a kinship, a connection to Jesus - he was like us - human, though he was God in the flesh.
He was hungry, tired, frustrated, in awe of God, the Father, who sent him to be an example to us.
Images of Jesus oftentimes are the picture of him praying in the Garden of Gethsemane, his head bowed, in obvious reverence to the God who holds all the keys to Heaven and Earth in his grasp.
We are but servants, but we don't act much like it.
We need the pictures of Jesus to remind us of how we are supposed to behave - both toward one another and toward God.
We forget that we are the children in need of, not only a loving Father, but a Savior.
We operate like we are an island - totally separate from those around us, making decisions that we would never make if we looked forward to see how those around us are affected.
Our family is made up of everyman.
No matter how many boundaries we lay out on this old earth, we are all connected.
Jesus saw that, Jesus knew it, Jesus knows it - and he knows us.
Let the images of Jesus play through your mind and bring you to the realization that we all need each other.
These pictures can take you to a new place, reflect on them and study your own heart.
Accept the changes that will occur as your vantage point shifts toward the humanity of us all.
