- 1). Go to "Start" then "Control Panel" on your computer.
- 2). Click on "Security Center" to open it.
- 3). Click on "Resources" and then "Change the way Security Center alerts me."
- 4). Remove checks from the boxes next to "Firewall," "Automatic Updates" and "Virus Protection" and then select "OK." If you want to keep the firewall and updates, leave the boxes checked.
- 5). Close the Security Center window. You will no longer receive virus alerts.
