    • 1). Create a new document and select the label size. You can change from the image size from pixels to inches by clicking the drop down arrow next to the size box. Select the color you want for the label background. Select the color you want from the color swatches. Click on the "Paint bucket" icon to fill the label with the color you want. Click on the label and watch the color change.

    • 2). Take a picture of a beer bottle, of yourself, or anything you find appropriate for the label. Open the digital software program and open the image. This is a key element in your design, so be careful and choose a well defined image. You can change it several times to find the most appropriate image for your label. Change the size of your image by clicking a corner of the image. Don't release the click and drag the corner in or out to make the picture smaller or larger. You can also type in the size you want and choosing the arrow drop-down button to select inches instead of pixels or choose percentage if you want to change the size by a certain percentage.

    • 3). Select an interesting font by clicking on the type "T" icon in the graphics program that you have chosen. Change the type in the upper toolbar by clicking the arrow next to the current type and selecting another one. Choose a bigger or smaller font by selecting the drop-down arrow next to the font point number. Move the text using the Move Tool (the arrow) in the left hand tool bar. Select the text, click and do not release the button, move it to the area you want. Do the same for the picture.

    • 4). Print your design on label paper with an adhesive back. You can buy this at an office supply or computer accessory store or at many brewing supply stores. Cut your new label to size and peel the backing off. Press the label to the bottle and use a damp sponge to wipe the label smooth, removing any air bubbles.
