- 1). Turn off the computer and unplug it from the wall.
- 2). Remove the screws at the rear of the machine to slide off the side panel.
- 3). Unscrew the power supply, optical drive(s) and hard drive(s) from the case.
- 4). Detach the power and data cables coming out of the motherboard, optical drive(s), and hard drive(s).
- 5). Unscrew the motherboard from the case and lift it gently from the machine.
- 6). Place the motherboard in the new case and screw it into position.
- 7). Insert the hard drive(s), optical drive(s) and power supply. Screw them into place and reattach the cables in the same configuration.
