How and Why You Should Brand Yourself Using Social Media
If you are involved with a company that, for whatever reason, terminates it's operation, you will need to start another blog if you decide to move to another business.
If you brand yourself, you can work for any business with the same blog and not have to make any drastic changes.
After all, it is you who people will join and not your company.
Many people don't buy because of the manufacturing company, but rather because you are polite, friendly, experienced and because, most of all, you care about the lives of your prospects.
The best way to brand yourself is as follows.
1.
Establish a website.
I have mine with WordPress, but it does not matter whether you use WordPress or another good blogging service.
The important points to remember when designing your blog are that it has to be generic (good for people in any business) and also that it has to look good.
Make a video, look for good photographs or take good new photographs.
You have to make it look professional because people will only take you seriously, if your blog makes you look serious about your work.
2.
You need to make yourself more valuable.
You can only make yourself more valuable if you constantly learn more.
Learn about all aspects of marketing, online business, self development and anything related to your success in whatever your niche is.
You need to ask yourself what your niche is.
For instance, if your business is in network marketing, network marketing is your niche.
3.
Increase the numbers of people who you have in your social networks.
In particular, you should focus on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.
It is up to you, but these three are my advice.
When you establish new relationships and new contacts, you can't go headlong in there and try and force people to join your organisation.
You need to give, give, give and then hopefully you will receive.
Remember that these relationships are 80% give and only 20% take.
4.
You need to add all the top quality content to your blog, at least twice weekly, but the more you update it with great content, the more valuable your blog will be and the more valuable your blog is, the more chance people are going to be sharing your content and increasing your business.
5.
Build your tribe.
Your tribe are people who will happily share your content simply because it is good content that they feel people should be aware of.
In order to establish your tribe, you need to find mentors.
A team of around 5 mentors are a great boost and are helpful in the establishment of any tribe.
You need to treat your 5 mentors as though they are royalty.
Your mentors are the people who you respect most in the industry.
They need to be people who you are totally comfortable with.
The reason for choosing these people to establish your tribe is because they have more people in their lists than most people.
Many of these people have tens of thousands of people in their list.
The idea of a tribe is to provide people with content of value to them.
Maybe this content is not your own, maybe it is the content of someone you have never even met.
By helping people in this way, you are helping others and when people are really happy with something you have done for them, they will promote your business too.
