How Do I Expand the Memory on a Gateway W6409 Emachine?
- 1). Turn your PC around with the rear facing you and remove all the cables from it. Remember where they were connected so you don't lose track of how to connect everything back.
- 2). Remove the screws on the right edge of the rear and pull back the panel while lifting it off.

Look for a small group of slots with cards on them similar to your new memory card. You must insert new memory here. - 4). Take your new memory card out of its packaging and carefully, while touching the edges, insert the card on an empty slot and press firmly. Make sure that you align the card correctly with the hole in the bottom of the card matching the protruding plastic part of the slot. Press the card onward until the small levers on the side "hug" the card.
- 5). Place the panel back on the computer and screw it back on firmly. Connect the cables back in the way they were connected before and turn on your computer to see how it performs with new memory.
