    • 1). Open the lid of the machine and turn the baking pan to the "open" direction. Remove the pan by pulling up on the handle.

    • 2). Position the kneading blade over the rotating shaft and press down firmly, so it is secure.

    • 3). Measure your bread ingredients and add them into the pan. Start with the water, butter, sugar and salt. Add the flour and make a depression in the middle of it where you'll add the yeast. Don't let the yeast touch any of the wet ingredients.

    • 4). Position the baking pan in the machine and turn it to "Close," locking it in place by lining up the marks on the body and pan.

    • 5). Pull on the handle gently to ensure the baking pan is secure, and then fold the handle down. Shut the lid and plug the cord into a standard outlet.

    • 6). Select the "Basic Bread" cycle and than hit the "Crust Control" key and choose "Light" "Medium" or "Dark."

    • 7). Press the "Start" key to begin the bread making cycle. The operation light will light up and the process will take approximately 3 hours and 50 minutes.

    • 8). Press the "Reset" key and open the lid when the unit beeps to indicate the bread is finished. Turn the baking pan to "Open" holding the handle with an oven mitt. Pull up on the handle and remove the baking pan.

    • 9). Remove the bread from the machine by shaking it out of the pan gently. Place it on a baking rack and allow it to cool before slicing. Unplug the bread maker when you are finished.
