Spirit Communication with Deceased Pets
Email from Reader, George:Elijah's Story: A Passover Cat! It was a Passover Seder and the time had come to open the door to allow the prophet Elijah to enter, should he choose to do so. My step-daughter opened the door and in walked our Elijah. He was a stray and of course he had to have that name. About 5 years old at that time, he lived with us for the next 15 years until a couple of months ago. He and I were joined at the hip my wife said, I miss him so very much. I did see his spirit once stretching on the front of a living room chair. I miss him beyond belief.
Question from Reader, Savanarain:Is my dog Tommy, who has crossed over, still with me in spirit? We had a strong bond. Does he have any messages for me? I'm finding it hard to connect with him. Thank you.
Response from Rose: - Dear George, thanks so much for sharing your wonderful story about Elijah. His presence in your life was a blessing on many levels, and I certainly understand why you would miss him so much.
You might find a healing session with an energy professional of benefit in rebalancing after the loss of such a strong friendship. It really can smooth off the rough edges of the grieving process.
While some people like George are gifted with experiences of "seeing" the spirits of their loved ones who have crossed over, others, like Savanarain, may find it difficult to feel the connection, or obtain information. The sense of loss we feel can prevent us from being grounded and balanced, and the lack of confidence that can result from negative mind chatter such as:
- "I'm not a professional."
- "I don't know how to do this."
- "I won't do this right, what if I get it wrong?"
While it is always nice to consult a professional animal communicator I encourage my clients to trust that they, too, can receive information. One automatic writing technique that can help I call the Right Hand / Left Hand Exercise, and it is very simple.
You may also find it helpful to practice the heart-connection exercise mentioned in my column: Let the Animals Be Your Teachers
Finally, trust that your animal companions are nearby. Their love for us is unconditional and eternal.
