    Download Videos in Firefox

    • 1). Launch Firefox on your computer. Click "Tools," then "Add-ons" on the menu bar. Note -- Press the Alt button to display the menu bar if using Firefox version 4.xx.

    • 2). Browse the selection of add-ons on the Firefox plugins website. Search for add-ons that allow you to download videos from streaming websites. Firefox add-ons such as Video DownloadHelper, FlashAndVideo and Ant Downloader are free, lightweight plugins for Firefox that allow you to download videos from popular video sharing sites such as MegaVideo and YouTube.

    • 3). Click the browser plugin name in the add-on browser window to visit its download page. Click the "Add to Firefox" button on the add-on page. Wait for your browser to download the plugin and prepare it for installation.

    • 4). Click the "Install Now" button. Wait for Firefox to install the add-on into your browser. Click the "Restart" button when prompted.

    • 5). Navigate to a Web page that has streaming video content you want to download to your computer. Wait for the video to load and the plugin to notify you that a video on the page is available for download. Click the download link in the plugin dialog box or pop-up window.

    • 6). Select a folder on your computer in which to save the downloaded video file. Enter a descriptive file name for the video in the "Save As" box and click "Save." Firefox downloads the video and saves it in the folder you selected.

    Download Videos with Internet Explorer

    • 1). Download an Internet Explorer compatible plugin or helper application that lets you download streaming videos. Plugins like FlashCatch and applications such as Ant Downloader allow you to download videos from many video sharing sites. Save the installation file to your computer.

    • 2). Close Internet Explorer. Click "Start," then "Computer." Browse to the folder containing the downloaded installation file. Double-click the file to launch the installer or setup wizard. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the plugin or application on your computer. Restart your computer if prompted.

    • 3). Launch Internet Explorer and browse to a Web page that has the streaming video content you want to copy to your hard drive. Wait for the plugin or video downloader application window to pop up.

    • 4). Click the "Download" or "Save Video" button. Browse to the folder where you want to save the video file and click the "Save" button.

    Download Videos Using Browser Only

    • 1). Navigate to a website that allows you to download streaming videos directly. Websites such as SaveVid.com and FlashVideoDownloader.org allow you to download videos from third-party streaming sites using an online interface.

    • 2). Open a new browser tab or window. Navigate to the Web page that contains the video you want to download. Highlight the URL address in the Address Bar and press the Ctrl + C keys.

    • 3). Click the browser tab or window to activate the video download site. Position the mouse cursor in the "URL" or "Address" field and press the Ctrl + V keys to paste the video site URL in the field.

    • 4). Click the "Download" or "Save Video" button. Browse to the folder where you want to save the video. Click the "Save" button and wait for the video to download to the folder you specified.
