    • 1). Set aside seven to 22 pounds of Epsom salts and divide them into several plastic bags, each light enough for you to carry.

    • 2). Take one plastic bag of Epsom salts and walk around the perimeter of the pool while adding some Epsom salts into the water. This helps the salts to evenly spread out in the water. Repeat until you use up all the Epsom salts.

    • 3). Use a pool net with a long handle to help move the Epsom salts around and dissolve them.

    • 4). Test your pool's hardness level using a pool chemical test kit to check whether it has returned to the normal level.

    • 5). Repeat the process every six months to maintain the chemical balance in your saltwater pool.
