- 1). Roll out the backwash hose that is connected to the waste outlet. The hose should be long enough to drain the water away from the pool and any flower gardens.
- 2). Turn off the pool pump, and turn the multiport valve handle to the "Backwash" position on the dial face.
- 3). Power on the pump, and run the pump until you see clean water running through the sight glass on the pump. Turn off the pump when you see clear water.
- 4). Turn the valve handle to the "Rinse" position. Turn on the pump. Run for 30 seconds. Turn off the pump.
- 5). Move the multiport valve handle to the "Filter" position for normal operating and filtering. Turn on the pump.
