    • 1). Take out any accessories attached to the threaded strainer connector, including the skimmer if your pool has one.

    • 2). Use the plug provided with your pool to plug the inlet and outlet fitting. Shut the inlet and outlet plunger valve. If your pool has a ladder, remove it. Take out the hoses that connect the filter and pump to the pool.

    • 3). Clean your pool by adding the winter chemicals recommended by your local pool supplier. Use the winter chemicals suited to the winter conditions of your region.

    • 4). Place an Intex pool cover over your pool. Remember that the Intex pool cover is not intended to be a safety cover.

    • 5). Drain all water from the pump, hoses and filter housing, and clean these parts. Take out the old filter cartridge and dispose of it.

    • 6). Drain the pool. After the pool is drained, dry the pool liner completely. Shake talcum powder on the pool liner to absorb any remaining water and to keep the vinyl from sticking together. Carefully roll the liner to avoid creases.

    • 7). Make sure all the accessories and their parts are completely clean and dry. Store these parts indoors in a dry and safe heated area, if possible, or an area that will at least remain at room temperature throughout the winter.
