How to Build a 2-Color Table in Word 2007
- 1). Open Microsoft Word 2007. A blank workspace appears.
- 2). Click the "Insert" tab at the top of the screen. Click the "Table" button directly below the tab. Drag the "Table Creator" drop-down to form the size of the table, such as "3 by 3." The table appears on the Word document.
- 3). Highlight one row or column of the table so that all cells in that row or column are highlighted. The Word default for highlighting is blue, but yours may have been altered.
- 4). Right-click the highlighted section. Select "Table Properties" from the fly-out menu. Click the "Borders and Shading" button at the bottom of the window. The "Shading" tab is already enabled.
- 5). Pull down the "Fill" menu and click a small colored square to give the table its first color. Click "OK." Make a note of the color or where that square appeared on the rainbow grid. The cells or rows now have their first color.
- 6). Repeat the highlighting process on another row or column. Choose another colored square from the "Fill" menu.
- 7). Highlight another row or cell or the entire rest of the table and repeat the "Table Properties" and "Fill" process, using the fill color you first chose.
