- 1). Contact your wireless carrier's customer service department and ask the representative if she could provide you with the unlock code for your device. Follow the representative instructions to obtain the code. Write the code down to avoid forgetting it. If you are unable to get the code, you will have to purchase one for a small fee from a cell phone unlocking company.
- 2). Press the "BlackBerry Menu" button and select "Manage Connections." Tap the option to "Turn off all connections."
- 3). Press the "Back" button and tap "Options" followed by "Advanced Options."
- 4). Tap "SIM Card" and flip your phone to the landscape view. Press the "BlackBerry Menu" button and tap the option "Show keyboard."
- 5). Type "MEPD" using the keypad on your screen. Nothing will show on the screen. Wait for the SIM card menu to populate on the screen and select "Network."
- 6). Type "MEP," tap the "ALT" key and select the number "2." Again, nothing will show on the screen. Wait for the box "Enter Network MEP Code" to appear on the screen.
- 7). Type the network unlock code when prompted using the onscreen keyboard.
- 8). Tap "Enter" and wait for the message "Code Accepted" to appear. Locate the word "Network" on the screen. It will now say "Inactive" indicating that the phone is unlocked.
