How to Create Bullnose Drywall
- 1). Spray drywall spray adhesive onto the baseboard area of the corner where you plan to install a bullnose corner. Spray the adhesive on the inside of a bullnose baseboard adapter.
- 2). Press the bullnose baseboard adapter in place at the base of the corner for five to 10 seconds and lift it off. Place the adapter back against the corner and hold it in place for a few seconds until it adheres.
- 3). Spray the corner edge along the entire length with an even coat of drywall spray adhesive. Spray the inside of the bullnose corner bead. Press the corner bead in place over the corner for five to 10 seconds and remove it. Place the bullnose corner bead back in place over the corner and hold it until it adheres.
- 4). Scoop up a generous amount of drywall compound with a drywall knife. Start at the top of the corner along one edge of the bullnose corner bead. Drag the knife down along the one edge all the way to the bottom of the corner joint. Repeat this process on the opposite side of the bullnose corner bead.
- 5). Feather the edges of the joint compound that you applied in Step 4 by dragging the drywall knife along the wall with the blade slightly overlapping the outside edges of the drywall compound on either side of the bullnose.
- 6). Apply a smooth coat of joint compound over the bullnose corner bead with a drywall knife. Continue to smooth out the joint compound around the corner joint until you are satisfied with the end result. Allow the joint compound to dry overnight.
- 7). Sand the joint compound lightly with a drywall screen until the surface is completely smooth and blends in with the wall surface.
