Windows Media

• Apple's iTunes software can be downloaded for free and allows you to purchase, import and save audio and video content; burn files to CD or DVD; and transfer them to an iPod portable media player.
  
  

SonicStage

• Sony's SonicStage is a media player/management program that performs similarly to iTunes and RealPlayer. Content can be purchased through Sony's Connect store and transferred to portable media players as well.
  
  

VLC Media Player

• VLC Media Player is another audio- and video-managing software program available as a free download that is compatible with most audio and video formats. It has versions available for a number of different operating systems.
  
  

JetAudio

• JetAudio is another free program that burns, records and converts a variety of audio and video formats; can add audio effects to existing files; and can be used to produce Internet broadcasts.
