    • 1). Place a large flat screwdriver between the two bumps on the oil reservoir cap. Turn the screwdriver counterclockwise to unscrew the cap and lift it straight off the oil reservoir.

    • 2). Set an oil drain pan about 2 feet from the lawn mower on the left side near the oil reservoir.

    • 3). Insert the clear end of a self-priming siphon hose into the oil drain pan.

    • 4). Grasp the opposite end of the siphon hose about 3 inches above the brass fitting.

    • 5). Insert the fitting into the oil reservoir and shake it up and down two to three times quickly. The oil will start to flow out of the lawn mower reservoir and into the drain pan.

    • 6). Push the fitting to the bottom of the oil reservoir to remove all of the oil.

    • 7). Take both ends of the siphon hose out of the oil reservoir and drain pan.

    • 8). Add motor oil to the oil reservoir until it appears almost full. Pull the oil stick out and add oil if need be until the oil is on the “Full” mark on the oil stick.

    • 9). Screw the oil reservoir cap on clockwise.

Clean the siphon hose by siphoning 1/4 gallon of gas through it until the gas runs clear with no oily residue. Leave the siphon hose stretched out until thoroughly dry before coiling it up for storage.
