The Five Stages To Hypnotize Somebody
2) Deepening - Similar to induction, deepening actually is just to make the participant relax more, it helps to bring out their sub conscious which makes them easier to hypnotize. starting with their toes, tell the person to relax and release tension with each exhalation. Then move up to their feet, legs and the rest of their body. Once you've done this the person will pretty much be falling asleep.
3) Conscious v. unconscious mind - This is more of a fun step and isn't necessary but in most cases it will certainly help you not only to make the process look better (if you're on stage) but by further blocking out the conscious part of their mind, which will always make a person more persuadable. The purpose of this step is to make the person forget what you tell them to do, and its very easily achievable you just tell them that they're going to forget everything that they're about to hear.
4) The programming - This is where you give the command that will effect you participant once they wake up, typically when hypnotizing someone you want them to improve in some way or another, for example if you wanted to help somebody quit smoking you could tell them: "when you wake up, you will no longer feel the need to smoke". This works because a persons subconscious actually has more control over a persons personality than their conscious does.
5) Bringing them back to reality - This stage is basically walking up your willing victim, its pretty simple to do just do like the people on tv do. "On the count of three I'm going to snap my fingers, when I do you're going to wake up".
Tip: To achieve the best results when trying to hypnotize someone make them recline their body.
