How to Get Ringtones on a BlackBerry Storm 2

    BlackBerry Ring Tone Service

    • 1). Click the "Media" icon on your BlackBerry Storm 2's home screen.

    • 2). Click on "Ring Tones."

    • 3). Click on "All Ring Tones."

    • 4). Press the "Menu" key.

    • 5). Click on "Download Ring Tones" to open up the BlackBerry ring tone store. You will be able to purchase and download a variety of ring tones from there.

    Adding Via Email

    • 1). Locate the ring tone you wish to download onto your BlackBerry Storm 2 on an Internet website. For example, CrackBerry (crackberry.com) has an extensive ring tone archive.

    • 2). Copy and paste the URL address to the file itself into an email and send it to your BlackBerry. Remember, it must be the specific BlackBerry email address set up when you first obtained your BlackBerry and went through the set-up process.

    • 3). Open the email on your BlackBerry and highlight the link text. Select "Get Link" to open a browser window leading to the link; or, if for some reason it doesn't work, copy the text and paste it into the browser's address bar.

    • 4). Select "Save" when prompted and select a location to save it in. You can save into the Ring tones folder on the phone or onto your memory card; the choice is up to you. After it's downloaded, the ring tone will be selectable like others already present on your phone.

    BlackBerry Desktop Manager

    • 1). Locate the ring tone you wish to add to your BlackBerry and save it to your computer. Any location is fine, as long as you can find it easily.

    • 2). Connect your BlackBerry Storm 2 to your computer via USB and start up BlackBerry Desktop Manager.

    • 3). Double-click on "Media Manager" and click on the "Folders" tab.

    • 4). Locate the ring tone file in the listing of your file folders and select it.

    • 5). Click "Copy Down" and then select "Convert for Optimal Playback" when prompted. Click "OK" to begin the transfer while will install your ring tone onto your BlackBerry.

    USB Mass Storage Mode

    • 1). Select "Options" from the home screen and click on "Media Card." Be advised, this method requires you to have a memory card installed on your device.

    • 2). Change the "Enable Mass Storage Mode" option to "On" and change "Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected" to "Yes."

    • 3). Connect your BlackBerry Storm 2 to your computer via USB and select "Open a Folder to View Files" when prompted about what you'd like to do.

    • 4). Navigate through the file folders on your memory card to the BlackBerry folder and then further to the folder marked "Ring Tones."

    • 5). Copy and paste the ring tone you wish to add to your phone to the "Ring Tones" folder. When you return your BlackBerry to regular operation, the ring tone will be added to you list of available ring tones.
