- 1). Charge the battery if the camera doesn't turn on or shuts off unexpectedly. If using a stand-alone Sanyo charger, open the battery compartment found on the bottom right-hand side of most Sanyo digital camera models. Slide out the battery and insert it into the Sanyo charger. Plug the charger into an electrical outlet. Remove the battery when the charger's front status light glows green. Replace into the Sanyo camera, slide the battery compartment door shut and resume use. If using a Sanyo camera with a built-in charger, plug its AC charger cord into the right-hand side of the camera and plug the other end into an outlet. The camera's charging light will blink until the battery is charged. Disconnect the cord and resume use.
- 2). Insert a memory card if the camera doesn't allow you to save new photos, signifying that its internal memory is depleted. Turn off the Sanyo camera. Open the battery compartment as you did in Step 1. Locate the memory card slot, found adjacent to the actual battery. Insert a Secure Digital (SD) memory card into the slot with the card's label facing the same direction as the Sanyo camera's back LCD display. Close the battery compartment.
- 3). Make sure the Sanyo camera is in the right mode if you experience blurry, poorly lit or oddly colored photos. All models feature several different modes with custom settings for varying environments, such as night shots or moving action shots. Turn the mode dial on the back of the camera to the correct setting, or keep it on Auto mode.
- 4). Increase the Sanyo camera's capture quality if you notice grainy images when developing your photos or sending them to friends. Press the square-shaped "Scene" button, located on the back of the camera to the right of the LCD display panel. A list of eight image resolutions will appear. The lowest setting is VGA and the highest setting is 10M. The closer you are to 10M, the better your final results. Press the right arrow on the square button to move to the "Image Resolution" screen. Select "Best" or "Better" for optimum quality. Exit the screen and resume use.
- 5). Wipe down the Sanyo digital camera's lens with a fine lint-free cloth if you find specks or dots on your pictures. Over time, particles of dust or debris can settle on the lens and affect image quality. Lightly wipe the lens in a circular motion using a clean cloth, such as the type used for prescription eyeglasses.
