- 1). Plug your Nuvi 205W series into your computer using the Nuvi's provided USB cable.
- 2). Open your Web browser.
- 3). Go to the "MyGarmin" sign-in page (see Resource section).
- 4). Log into your MyGarmin account. Click "Create new account" and follow the prompts if you do not have a MyGarmin account. After signing in, you will be directed to your MyGarmin dashboard.
- 5). Select "Get Now." If you do not see the "Get Now" button, then no street updates are available for your Nuvi 205W series.
- 6). Click "PC Download" or "Mac Download," depending on your operating system, to begin setting up the map installation.
- 7). Run the "Garmin Communicator Plug-in" when a prompt appears. Afterward, your browser will recognize and communicate with your Nuvi as the website prepares to upload the files.
- 8). Select "Launch Download Manager" when the "Ready to send" message appears.

Click "Launch" after the "Download Manager" finishes downloading to your computer. - 11
Follow the program's prompts to complete the street update for your Nuvi 205W series.
