How to Find an Available Outgoing Port
- 1). Use Audit My PC's Firewall Test. Audio My PC's Firewall test will locate available outgoing ports on both your computer's router and through any firewall programs you may be using as network security. Leave all of the boxes with their default settings on the Firewall Test website and click "Start the Test!" This will pull up a list of available outgoing ports on your computer.
- 2). Use Smartline Active Ports. Smartline Active Ports is a program that you're going to have to download from your Web browser and run in order to find out the information you need. Active Ports will also provide you with additional information, however, including how long ports have been active, how much data is being transmitted through them and where that data is going.
- 3). Use Active Network Monitor. Active Network Monitor is a program mainly designed to give you a comprehensive listing of information about your computer's network connection. It will tell you which ports are available and which ports are not, as well as which ports are being used for outgoing transmissions and for incoming transmissions. You can also use Network Monitor to keep an eye on the security of your network.
