How Does a Jacuzzi Bath Work?
- The original Jacuzzi product was a portable pump usable in bathtubs or pools. It created pressurized, swirling jets of water that could be directed at specific body areas that were stressed or painful. The warmth of the water, coupled with the action of the water, relaxed muscles and tissues.
- As technology advanced and the Jacuzzi gained popularity, hot tubs emerged that had the water jets installed in the sides. In the years that followed, hospitals and other therapeutic facilities installed jets in their tubs and pools to comfort patients. Some home bathtub manufacturers now offer water jet options on certain models.
- Candido Jacuzzi invented the Jacuzzi pump in 1948 to ease the pain of his son, who suffered from rheumatoid arthritis. His family's company had been in the pump building business for many years before that and he based his therapeutic pump on parts of those designs.
