    • 1). Mix your glaze color on the palette. You can use any color. The darker the color, the more thinning you will do. The idea is to avoid opaque applications. The translucent color creates the glaze.

    • 2). Place the paint in your container. Use a small amount first. Add an equal amount of medium. Mix it well.

    • 3). Add water, a drop at a time. Mix as you add. The final mixture should be thin, but not runny. You want to avoid drips. If you over-thin it, add a hint more of medium and paint.

    • 4). Apply a thin layer of glaze. Use the soft brush. If drips occur, lay the painting flat.

    • 5). Evaluate your glaze. You should be able to see through the glaze. If the color is too strong, rub off the paint. Thin the mixture further. If the glaze is fine, allow the glaze to dry. This takes about 20 to 30 minutes.

    • 6). Re-apply the glaze. Repeat as necessary. Stop when the color is rich, yet not fully opaque.
