    • 1). Mark the edge of a tire, place the sweep in the water and turn on the pump if the cleaner becomes slow, gets stuck or keeps getting tangled. Count how many times the wheels move per minute. This checks the wheel rpm, which should remain between 30 and 34 for the best performance.

    • 2). Close all suction lines if the rpm is under 30 or over 34. Inspect the hoses and other connections for leaks. Clean out the filter and pump basket. Turn the dedicated suction line's valve to change the rpm. If it's connected to a skimmer instead, adjust the flow regular knob to change the rpm. Recount the wheel revolutions to determine when the rpm level is adequate.

    • 3). Remove the screws and the housing from around the propeller if the cleaner is slow or gets stuck easily. Remove any debris from the propeller. Assemble the propeller housing and place the sweep in the water with the pump on to see if it moves quicker and easier.

    • 4). Connect the 45-degree elbow if the cleaner is connected to a dedicated suction line and the hose keeps getting tangled. Position the elbow upward and attach it to the hose.
