- Find a Tier 1 prospector farm within the Shire, near Michael Delving. The prospecting area is near the "g" in "Michael Delving" on the map. Nodes appear quickly in the area, so you can level up your prospecting in short order. The Shire is one of the starting areas in the game, and it contains enough quests for you to reach Level 5. You will also find horses to catch in the Shire.
- Go to the Barrow-Downs to earn some fast money. You'll find the Barrow-Downs just east of the Old Forest, in Bree-Land. The mobs in the area range from Level 15 to Level 20, so you'll want to be at least Level 14 before you go into the area (unless you are part of a fellowship). Kill Barghests and Wights until all of your bags are full, and should earn anywhere between 150 to 300 silver.
- If you find yourself unable to move in any direction, type "/stuck" into the text bar. You'll be automatically teleported to your Map Home. Press "Alt" and "F10" at the same time to access a personal light that will light up dark areas. Select the object closest to your avatar with the "Delete" key, and press "U" to use the selected item. Hit "Tab" to select the creature closest to your avatar. Use the "F2" through "F6" keys to select different characters in your fellowship. Any time you need help, hit the "F7" key. The "Esc" button pulls up the in-game menu.
- You can completely change the look of your on-screen user interface. Hit "Ctrl" and "\" to move the windows around on the screen; this allows you to arrange things to suit your gameplay. You can also select "Loot All" from the "UI Options" menu, and you'll automatically collect coins and items from the mobs that you kill -- they will go right into your bags. Since you don't have to stop to click on each loot item, you'll kill mobs much more quickly.
