How to Frame Colored Pencil Artwork
- 1). Spray the finished colored pencil drawing with a matte spray fixative to keep the pencil from fading or smudging. Experiment with different brands of fixative on sheets of drawing paper before fixating your drawing permanently.
- 2). Refer to the manufacturer's direction's on the fixative bottle before applying it to your drawing. Spray the fixative in a light layer and add more as necessary.
- 3). Let the colored pencil drawing dry according to the fixative directions.
- 4). Place the colored pencil drawing in an appropriate-sized frame. If the drawing is smaller than the frame itself, place a correctly-sized mat in the frame.
- 5). Attach the frame's backing and hang the frame. Hang the frame out of harsh lighting or sunlight which may cause the drawing to fade over time.
