How to Remove Paint from Stoneware
- 1). Wrap a dry cloth rag around the broad scraping end of the plastic putty knife.
- 2). Use the plastic putty knife to scrape the dried paint from the surface of the stoneware. Use the dry rag as a buffer between the plastic putty knife and the stoneware to avoid scratching the surface. Proceed to step three if paint remains on the stoneware.
- 3). Apply olive oil to the stoneware to help loosen the paint. Massage the olive oil into the paint for about five minutes.
- 4). Repeat steps one and two. Proceed to step five if any paint remains on the stoneware.
- 5). Repeat step three except use mineral spirits instead of olive oil. Proceed to step six if any paint remains on the stoneware.
- 6). Use a razor blade to carefully and meticulously scrape the paint from the stoneware. Work slowly and carefully to avoid damaging the surface.
