- 1). Download Windows Live Messenger by clicking on on the link in Resources and selecting "Download Now" to download the setup file. Double-click on the downloaded file to run the installation process.
- 2). Sign in to MSN by entering your email address and password, then pressing "Sign In." An MSN account allows you to add contacts to chat to and access all the services of Windows Live Messenger. If you don't already have an account, sign up for one by clicking on "Create a New Account." This will direct you to a webpage where you can create your personal account.
- 3). Once you're signed in, click on the green plus button and select "Add a Contact" to begin adding contacts. To add your friends as contacts, you will need their MSN addresses.
- 4). Click on the menu icon--a blue box with a white arrow--and select "Tools," then "Options." In this dialog you can adjust the Windows Live settings. The personal tab lets you to choose a screen name, personal message and display picture. Click "OK" to save your settings.
