How to Install a Two-tier Preformed Pond
- 1). Place the preformed pond on the ground where you want to install it. Place an outline in the grass around the bottom edge of the first tier of the pond resting on the surface of the ground with marking paint.
- 2). Measure the depth from the bottom of the pond to the bottom of the lip molded into the top edge of the pond.
- 3). Dig out the area inside the parking paint with a shovel. Stop when you reach the correct depth you took with your tape measure.
- 4). Place the first tier of the pond into the newly dug hole. The bottom of the second tier should rest against the surface of the ground.
- 5). Place an outline in the grass around the bottom edge of the first tier of the pond resting on the surface of the ground with marking paint. Pace the pond off to the side.
- 6). Measure the depth of the tier closes to the top of the pond with a tape measure.
- 7). Dig out the area inside the marking paint with a shovel. Work to keep the bottom of the ditch level.
- 8). Place the pond into the hole. The lip of the pool should rest against the ground and the bottom of the pool should rest against the ground in the bottom of the hole.
- 9). Place a small amount of sand into the holes if you dig the holes too deep. If you dig too shallow, remove the pond, then remove a small amount of dirt at a time until you have a good fit.
