Disable BIOS Boost

Turn off your computer and wait 30 seconds. Turn on your computer and hold down the F2 key while the computer is booting up to access the BIOS Setup utility.

Use your left arrow key to tab to the "Boot" directory. Use your down arrow key to highlight "Boot Booster." Click your right arrow key to select this option. Use your up or down arrow key to select "Disabled." Press the Enter key.

Press your F10 key to save the settings and exit the Setup utility.

Asus Update Utility

Select the Asus Update utility located in your ASUS folder under "Programs": click the Start menu and point to "Programs," then point to the "ASUS" folder and select "ASUSUpdate" (this may be in a subfolder in your ASUS folder).

Select "Download BIOS From Internet" in the drop-down menu under "Select the Update Method."

Select the update server in the drop-down menu or click the "Auto Select" button to provide you with the best server based on network traffic.

Select the BIOS version from the available list on the FTP site. Click the "Next" button. You may be prompted for specific information, based on your selection. Click the "Finish" button to exit the utility. Restart your computer.

USB Drive Flash Loader

Download the AFUDOS flash loader for ASUS BIOS from Softpedia (see Resources below for AFUDOS 2.29). Insert your USB memory stick into the appropriate slot in your computer.

Format the USB drive to make it a bootable drive. Copy the desired BIOS file to the memory stick.

Extract your downloaded AFUDOS zip file to a folder on your USB memory stick, either by changing the destination location or by dragging the extracted folder to the memory stick.

Click the Start menu and select "Run." Type the command, "AFUDOS/i####.rom/pbnc/n" where "####" is the name of your BIOS file (on your USB drive). For example, if your BIOS file name is asusprevious, type:
AFUDOS/iasusprevious.rom/pbnc/n

Check that your display flashes and a verification window appears. Restart your computer.
