- 1). Contact AT&T customer support to activate your AirCard on a data plan if you have not already done so. AT&T Wireless can be reached by calling 1-888-333-6651. A representative will be able to give you current plan rates and details. You will need to provide the representative with the IMEI number of your card. This can be found on a small sticker on the card or on the box the card came packaged in. If you have a SIM card, give the representative the numbers printed on the card. Otherwise, AT&T will provide you with a new SIM to use with your AirCard.
- 2). Insert the installation CD into your computer's CD-ROM drive. (If you do not have the installation disk, visit the link in the Resources section to download the software.) Once the disk has been inserted, the software should start automatically. If it does not, Click "Start," then "Run" and type "d:\Setup.exe" into the search field. Press "Enter."
- 3). Choose the "Notebook Software Installation" option in the menu that appears. Follow the on-screen instructions as they guide you through the download process step by step. Move to step 4 when prompted to insert your AirCard into your computer.
- 4). Insert your SIM card into the SIM card slot of the AirCard. The SIM card will slide into place, with the notched side facing out. Grasp the AirCard by the black plastic shelf and insert it into your computer's PC card slot.
- 5). Wait for the card to acquire a signal from the network. This may take several moments. When a signal is available, click "Connect."
- 6). Configure a connection profile if you are prompted to do so by clicking "Yes." A window will open, and a pre-configured profile will automatically be selected for you. You can choose to have your AirCard connect on its own when inserted into the PC card slot by choosing the "AutoConnect" option in the "Connection Type" menu. To finish setup, click "OK." Your card is activated and ready for use.
