Lexmark Z32 Troubleshooting Guide
- 1). Check that all cables are plugged in securely. Difficulties occur when the cables are not secured from the PC to the printer. Error messages such as "Printer offline" are common indicators that connections are loose or that the printer is not receiving power due to being turned off or not being plugged into an electrical socket.
- 2). Close programs that are not in use while printing if slow printing speeds are an issue. Higher quality documents and images will also require more time to print. The computer memory levels also have an impact on how fast the information is sent to the printer.
- 3). Remove paper from the feeder if a print jam occurs. Common reasons for a print jam include loading too much paper into the sheet feeder or using the wrong kind of paper. The printer should also be placed on a flat service to avoid jams. If the paper cannot be removed manually because it is too far in, turn the printer off, remove the front cover and dislodge the paper.
- 4). Check the margins if poor print quality is a concern around the edges, top or bottom. Set the margins at a minimum of .25 inches from all four sides. Vertical lines are common problems with a lower quality print setting or a symptom of dirty printing nozzles. The cartridges may need to be realigned as well.
- 5). Solve problems with ink that is smudged or too dark by allowing proper time for it to dry. The paper needs to remain smooth and not have any wrinkles in it.
