How to Take Latex Paint Off Upholstery

    • 1). Scrape off the excess latex paint with a plastic scraper. Avoid applying excess pressure to prevent damaging the upholstery.

    • 2). Create a mixture with 1 tbsp. liquid dish soap, 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol and 3 cups hot water. Stir the ingredients until they are well incorporated.

    • 3). Dampen a kitchen sponge with the soapy water and dab at the upholstery to begin lifting the paint.

    • 4). Continue to blot at the stain with the kitchen sponge until they latex paint is completely removed. Rinse the upholstery with water to remove the alcohol mixture.

    • 5). Dab at the upholstery with a microfiber cloth to remove the excess water.
