Just Because It"s Free Doesn"t Mean It"s a Good Idea
This information can certainly always be applied for what ever you want to carry out. If you want to have a blog that you can use to advertise affiliate offers, this works. If you currently have an established company on the net or offline and you need a web page for it, this is ideal.
First, I'll discuss with you a little pitfall I ran into a few years ago when I had been making quite decent money online as an affiliate marketer for ClickBank and CJ.com.
Back then, in the event you wanted to make money, a lot of capital really one of the ideal methods were to buy a domain name for the product or service you were going to market and build a Wordpress platforms blog with written content in it. For this though you needed to get web web hosting service to host your domain and then you had to know how to actually install the wordpress blog.
Once you installed the WordPress blog, you required to tune some things in the dashboard of the blog to get it SEO ready, (SEO is Search Engine Optimization.) and after that you had to create relevant content material with call to actions so that you could make a payment from whatever you were marketing.
Unfortunately, for most people starting out brand new, this was way too overwhelming a task and they couldn't get this part of the setting up phase done let alone figure out how to get traffic to their sites. Understanding precisely how to start out a weblog and earn cash, for a newbie appeared unattainable.
For a typical website/blog the cost wasn't too much once you understand what you don't need to pay for and what you do need to pay for.
A domain name that is fresh new and has no influence (in essence brand new out of the gate that you conjured up) is typically
$5 to $11 per year. That's cheap of course.
After that you would need web hosting. depending on how much content you were creating on your site (how much space (gigs) you needed that would run you between $7/month to around $50 per month. If you were setting up to advertise many unique markets, a web hosting plan involving $7 for every 30 days wouldn't do it. You would certainly very likely need to have to shell out a few extra dollars for a quality internet hosting plan.
Now your cost is still pretty low to run your business, but if you couldn't figure out how to set it all up, likely you would need to pay someone else to do this for you.
After all of this you still need to promote this blog /website because traffic won't just suddenly show up just because you r site is visible to the public.
So you see that it was a task that most people did not want to do and I was no different. I mean, who the heck wants to devote days and nights trying to figure this stuff out, just so you can hopefully earn a commission or two in a few months from the time you started.
The answer at the moment? Market and make revenue with a free blogging system in which is already done for you. All you needed was some content with your affiliate links and voila€¦instant free website.
And so precisely why is a totally free blog site a terrible idea as your main €money site€?
So I had thought that I'd struck gold. I ditched my paid blog sites and just signed up and registered with a few of the well known free platforms like Blogger.com and a couple of others. I created some material and I posted links and banners on it and after endorsing the internet site for a week or so, I was getting a lot of traffic(organic) and naturally sales were rolling in.
You can imagine how wonderful it felt to see $400 and $800 dollar days every day in income! I scaled up and rolled a lot of money into advertising and made double the amounts a week later.
Like I said, I was on a gold rush and felt pretty awesome. This went on for about 2 months and I just kept doing what was working because why the heck not? If it ain't broke€¦
I was new and really had hit a lucky streak so I never bothered to look into what challenges could come about in my new awesome money making machine of a business.
First BIG mistake I made was I had not bothered to capture emails and build a list.
Second BIG mistake was the one that shut me down overnight.
How to start a blog and make money THE right way!
I was using Google's platform €Blogger€ and a couple of other free ones as well and I failed to realize that any traffic that was coming to my blog and any content I created could disappear instantly if Google or one of the other blogs decided that they didn't like me or if one person decided to report me for any reason whatsoever.
That is exactly what transpired and it was enough to make me nearly sick to my stomach.
It was a Tuesday later part of the day and I had already made about $1345.00 by 8 pm that day, feeling awesome looking forward to the subsequent day and woke up very early to find my blogs (the ones that were genuinely generating a great deal of income) were terminated and accounts suspended indefinitely.
Day ruined€¦€¦.
It grew to become obvious that after a week of investigating and ripping my hair out of my head because Google was pretty impossible to get a hold of or get an answer from, it turned out that one person who did not like the product I was promoting for whatever reason complained to Google and BAM! It was all over. That day I made about $35 and learned a huge lesson that I am passing on to other brand new marketers.
If you don't own control over the blog you are using and you are receiving excellent final results don't be surprised if you end up losing all of that due to the fact the platform is just not safe if it is free.
