- 1). Open WebUpdater. WebUpdater is a free application from Garmin that finds updates for your particular GPS device, such as software, firmware and maps, then installs them on your device. You can download WebUpdater at Garmin's website.
- 2). Insert the smaller end of the USB cable into the USB port located on the bottom of the Garmin 760. Insert the other end of the USB cable into your computer's USB port. Once the device is connected, the WebUpdater software will recognize it and determine what updates are available for the 760.
- 3). Confirm that you want to update your 760 when prompted by WebUpdater. Then the software will update it. When updates are complete, you will be notified and can disconnect your GPS device at this time.
