How to Water a Dwarf Orange While it's Blooming
- 1). Examine the soil around the base of the tree. If it is moist, the tree doesn't need water. If the soil appears dry on the surface, stick a finger into the soil to a depth of 2 to 3 inches. If the soil is dry at that depth, add enough water to moisten it.
- 2). Hold a garden hose at the base of the tree and turn on the water, if you have a dwarf orange planted in the ground. Add about 1 inch of water to the soil around the base of the tree. Water the tree two to three times a week in hot weather and once a week in cold weather to keep the soil moist.
- 3). Pour water from a watering can into the pot of a container-growing dwarf orange tree. Add enough water that some drips out of the bottom of the container.
