Magnets Affecting Radish Seed Growth

Magnets have properties that may be beneficial to seeds, especially fast-sprouting seeds like radishes. According to Wholly Water and Jon Barron, founder of the Baseline of Health Foundation, magnets have the capacity to improve seed growth with their electromagnetic fields. The same properties that improve water and speed healing in humans may also benefit plants. - Space exploration plans grow every day, with scientists planning longer trips into space. The problems involved with these plans include lack of food storage. If astronauts could grow their own food, however, this problem could be solved. According to NASA and California State University, magnets can simulate gravity. If opposing poles of magnets are placed in a grid around a radish plant, the radishes believe they're in a normal atmosphere and can grow normally.
- Some gardeners already use drip irrigation to water their plants. This watering method delivers water directly to the soil without water loss due to evaporation. This means you need less water overall to give your plants as much water as they need.
According to Jon Barron, magnets may hold the key to making water even more bio-available. Negative-ion water treated by magnets contains smaller molecule clusters. When watered with this water, radishes absorb the smaller clusters more easily. This means they need to absorb less water for proper hydration. Simply glue magnets to your watering can with the north poles facing inward to create this water. - Magnets create an electromagnetic field around radish plants that simulates an extra gravitational pull, according to Wholly Water. This pull stimulates the germination process and causes your radishes to sprout sooner. Once the plants have sprouted, the magnetic force speeds up the protein production in the roots, causing the radishes to grow faster. Faster growth means a shorter ripening period and a larger harvest earlier in the season.
Create this extra field around your radishes by burying bar magnets in the soil around the plant. Alternate the poles that go into the soil to create opposing forces that tug at your plant.
