Cleaning a Commercial Canopy
If they don't, they are missing out on a great opportunity.
A commercial canopy can do a lot for a business.
It adds to the decor and theme of the company as well as distinguishes it from other surrounding businesses.
A commercial canopy can display the name of the business on the front which informs people of what's inside.
This helps the business receive more customers.
For those who do have a commercial canopy, it is important to keep it clean and looking good for the customers that will see it.
A clean canopy makes a good impression and makes a building look more inviting.
Here are the steps on how to go about cleaning those canopies.
1.
First, make sure to clean the commercial canopy on a sunny day so it will dry faster, reduce water stains and prevent mildew or mold.
Get a broom of some sort and use it to knock off any dirt, dust or debris that may be on the awning.
Try and get as much of the dust off as possible before using any water.
Then, get a garden hose or buckets of water and rinse off the canopy thoroughly.
2.
After rinsing it with just normal water, make a cleaning solution that is safe for your commercial canopy.
The cleaning solution will depend on the type of fabric the canopy is made out of.
Some fabrics like canvas can be cleaned with water and simple dishwashing liquid.
Other fabrics can handle borax or bleach.
Be careful because you don't want to ruin your commercial canopy but you want to make it look squeaky clean and brand new again.
3.
If possible, remove the canopy and set it on the ground to clean it.
If this isn't going to work, get a ladder and get as close as you can to the awning.
It is important to be as close as possible so you can scrub really hard safely.
After completely brushing and scrubbing it down, rinse it off and repeat if necessary.
The dirtier the commercial canopy is, the more times it should be washed.
4.
When done washing, put the canopy back up and make sure it is completely rinsed off.
There should be no soap residue left on the canopy.
Then, leave the awning out to dry.
It is better for the canopy to be in the sun so it dries thoroughly and is left with no hidden water.
Leaving water on it can cause mold and no one trusts a company with mold.
