    • 1). Notice the the lack of aperture or shutter speed control on the SD series. There is no aperture priority or shutter priority mode on SD-series cameras.

    • 2). Notice the placement of ISO setting on the SD series. Whereas the G9 has an ISO wheel on the top of the camera, the SD series ISO settings are found in the Function menu. Press the "Func. Set" button on your SD-series camera to activate the function menu. Then, navigate to the "ISO" section by using the directional buttons. If you cannot access the ISO menu, ensure the camera is set to Program mode and not Auto mode.

    • 3). Protect the camera from being turned on accidentally while in your pocket. If the lens attempts to extend in a confined space, it may strip the gears on the motor, a common problem among SD-series cameras. A case or bag for your camera will protect it from being activated inadvertently.
